Mr. Les Wilson is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of The 27:17 Project, a nonprofit organization directed to providing ministry and resources to the Oil & Gas Industry through safety, mentorship, and devotionals.
Les has worked in construction for over 23 years. Following in the footsteps of his father Charles Wilson (aka Wine), he served as a pipeline welder for many years. Not being satisfied in that trade, Les always felt he was called to do more. Later he would advance to superintendent, estimator, construction manager, and operations manager. Even with the growth in his career there was always a void, something was missing. After many years of being out of town and working long hours it all changed. In April of 2017 Les surrendered his life and finally understood what was missing. Jesus Christ was missing!
A lot has changed since April of 2017. Currently Les serves as Vice President of Operations for an Energy Services Company. In addition to his career and operating The 27:17 Project, he is also an active member of his local church, where he plays a big role in Men’s Ministry. Les has a heart for mentoring, strengthening, and encouraging those around him and abroad, believing that iron truly does sharpen iron.
After seeking wise council from fellow believers and many prayers, he and a like-minded friend formed The 27:17 Project. In October of 2021, the organization became a fully formed 501(c)(3) with an abundance of support from family, fellow believers, and the industry as a whole.
Mr. Bryan Dolan is the Co-Founder of The 27:17 Project along with Mr. Les Wilson.
In 2007, Mr. Dolan felt like he was called to ministry, however he did not feel like he was being called to give up his business. This was something he struggled with for years and then God showed that his mission field is the industry that he worked in.
Bryan is the majority owner of Trinity Utilities & Boring and provides HDD services to the Oil & Gas Industry, Electric Industry, Franchise Utilities, Fiber Optics and Renewable Energy Industries. Working in the various underground utility industries, he has been able to meet with many different business leaders and have found a common dominator within each industry, ”We as Christians need to be bold in our walk with Christ”. There are many people out there that are being mentored to live their lives in a way that will lead them on a path straight to hell. When Les and Bryan started talking about this ministry, Bryan thought he was just going to support it in prayer, however the more they talked about it, Bryan felt led to do more than just pray for the ministry. God has put on his heart the importance of mentoring the men in our industry.
Mr. Dolan has been in Bible Study Fellowship for 13 years, has led junior high boys, young adults, and men’s bible studies. He believes God has used these experiences to develop him for the next step in his life of serving Christ, which is spiritual growth and mentorship to an industry that has given him so much. Bryan feels now it’s time for him to give back and that is why he is so excited about The 27:17 Project and the opportunities it will provide to reach and give hope to everyone willing to engage and participate in what God has given us.
